Mattias Desmet

Mattias Desmet is a Professor of Clinical Psychology, a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist at Ghent University in Belgium and holds a masters degree in statistics and has published 126 articles in peer-reviewed journals.

As an academic researcher, Mattias started to study the statistics presented around the current events in early 2020 and it became clear to him that the stats needed further exploration and discussion and he became concerned by the consensus narrative.

His theory of mass formation during the COVID-19 pandeimc has become widely known and widely misunderstood since gaining mainstream attention. The phenomenon is a kind of collective hypnosis that occurs under certain societal conditions.

His new book, The Psychology of Totalitarianism, lays out what mass formation is, how it develops, how it leads to totalitarianism, and what we must do to change the conditions that makes these mass formation events possible.

This page captures interviews with Professor Desmet, as well as “push-back” articles and information against the term Mass Formation Psychosis which Dr Malone began sharing after learning about Dr Desmet’s hypothesis.
