Kermit Schafer was a writer and producer for radio and television in the 1950s and 1960s. He is best known for creating the term "bloopers" to refer to on-air mistakes made by TV personalities. He is believe to be the first person to collect and present these mistakes, producing a series of LP's and books.
He became a minor celebrity with the nickname "The Blooper Man".
