Reverend Canon Hilary Davidson grew up in the English county of Rutland. He was a dedicated scholar and author on organ history. He served, successively, as Curate of Abington, Rector of Sywell and Overstone, Rector of Maidwell, Draughton, Lamport and Scaldwell, Vicar of Roade, Ashton and Hartwell. Canon Hilary was a former President of the Northampton & District Organists' Association and served as the Diocesan Organ Adviser.
