Matilde Asensi

Matilde Asensi nació en Alicante. En 1999 publicó su primera novela, El salón de ámbar, que ha sido traducida a varios idiomas.

Con Iacobus (2000) y Peregrinatio (2004), se situó en los primeros puestos de las listas de libros más vendidos, y El último Catón (2001) la confirmó como la autora de su generación de mayor éxito de crítica y público.

Posteriormente, con El origen perdido (2003) Matilde Asensi reinventó la novela de aventuras. Todo bajo el Cielo (2006) llevó a sus lectores a la China del Gran Emperador.

Tierra Firme y Venganza en Sevilla, sus novelas de aventuras más recientes, están protagonizadas por Catalina Solís, también conocida como Martín Ojo de Plata, un personaje capaz de cambiar sus ropas de mujer en nombre de la justicia y la verdad, lo cual le permite superar adversidades, dominar temores y debilidades, vivir en diferentes mundos…, y descubrirse como una aventurera capaz de desenvolverse en ambas realidades.

Matilde Asensi fue finalista de los premios literarios Ciudad de San Sebastián (1995) y Gabriel Miró (1996) y ganó el primer premio de cuentos en el XV Certamen Literario Juan Ortiz del Barco (1996), de Cádiz, y el XVI Premio de Novela Corta Felipe Trigo (1997), de Badajoz.
