A well known Nepali author of several books, Pandey is a foreign policy expert and analyst from Nepal. For eight years, he was with the Kathmandu based Institute of Foreign Affairs culminating as its Executive Director (2004-2006). His latest book "India's North-Eastern Region: Insurgency, Economic Development and Linkages with South-East Asia" was a best seller. He was also a visiting research scholar at the Institute of South Asian Studies, Singapore. He is author of 2 books and has edited over a dozen other titles. All of the books are catalogued in the U.S. Library of Congress.
