Herself a schoolteacher, Helen Farrar’s only novel, Murder Goes to School, also had an academic setting. Farrar was the daughter of a university professor, educated at the University of California, studied at Oxford, Cambridge, and the Sorbonne, and taught English, French, and history in half a dozen schools and junior colleges, mainly in California. She is not to be confused with Helen Graham Farrar, who wrote two gothic novels in the early 1970s.
