[Deutsch] Johann Heinrich Gelzer-Sarasin (geb. 1813 in Schaffhausen; gest. 1889 in Witwald, Gemeinde Eptingen, Kanton Basel-Land) war ein Schweizer Theologe, Historiker, Diplomat und Publizist. Von 1853 bis 1870 war er Herausgeber der "Protestantischen Monatsblätter für innere Zeitgeschichte". Er war seit 1844 mit Julie Sarasin (1825-1912) verheiratet. Der Klassische Philologe und Althistoriker Heinrich K. G. Gelzer (1847-1906) war sein Sohn.
[English] Johann Heinrich Gelzer-Sarasin (born 1813 in Schaffhausen, died 1889 in Witwald, Eptingen, Basel-Land) was a Swiss theologian, historian, diplomat and journalist. From 1853 to 1870 he was editor of the journal "Protestantischen Monatsblätter für innere Zeitgeschichte". From 1844 on he was married to Julie Sarasin (1825-1912). The classical philologist and historian Heinrich K. G. Gelzer (1847-1906) was his son.
