Mary Lee

"Lee served with the American Red Cross as a secretary (...). After returning home, she wrote a book about her World War I experiences. The book, completed in 1927, was initially titled The Farce. After it was rejected by numerous publishers, she eventually changed the title to It’s a Great War! and entered it in a best war novel competition."
