Francisco Hernández Mir (1871-1956) fue un periodista y escritor español, corresponsal de guerra en Melilla para cubir la conocida como Guerra de margallo para el periódico El Porvenir de Sevilla. En 1894 publica su primer libro Farrucos y gallinas. Impresiones de un viaje a Melilla. Gracias a su experiencia como corresponsal en el norte de África, Hernández Mir se convirtió en un reconocido experto en asuntos del Rif y Marruecos.
