David Shapiro

David Shapiro, Ph.D. is Professor Emeritus and Senior Lecturer in Psychology, Graduate Faculty, New School for Social Research. He was formerly the Chief Psychologist at the Austen Riggs Center in Massachusetts, and more recently was Director of Clinical Psychology Training at the New School. He has practiced psychotherapy for many years in Westwood, California where he also was an adjunct professor at the UCLA School of Social Welfare. He currently practices psychotherapy in New York City. His book Neurotic Styles (Basic Books, 1965) is considered by many professionals to be a classic and has been translated into six languages.
