Milton Wayne Loyer, born in San Francisco, California, is an American author, statistician and archivist. He was Lay speaker at United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown, Pennsylvania, 1980—2006; Member of Society of America Archivists, American Statistical Association. Loyer earned a Bachelor's degree from Eastern Mennonite College, Harrisonburg, Virginia, in 1967; a Master of Arts from George Peabody College, Nashville, Tennessee, in 1968. He then went to Montana State University where in 1976 he received a Master of Science degree, and in 1981 a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Statistics. His thesis was titled Using a serial dilution experiment to estimate the density of organisms.
Loyer was Instructor Methodist College, Fayetteville, North Carolina, 1968—1970; Counselor Michigan Teen Ranch, Marlette, 1970—1972; Instructor Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, 1972—1974; Teaching assistant Montana State University, Bozeman, 1974—1980; Professor Messiah College, Grantham, Pennsylvania, 1980—1990. From 1990-2006, Loyer was Educator Capital Area Intermediate Unit, Summerdale; Archivist Central Pennsylvania Conference, Williamsport; and Statistician Pennsylvania State University, Biglerville. Member executive committee Commission on Archives and History, Northeastern United States, 1998—2006, Conference History Society, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, 1984—2006.
