Soma Grismaijer received an associate’s degree in behavioral sciences from the College of Marin and a B.A. degree in environmental studies and planning from Sonoma State University. She is a certified optician. She has been the president and executive director of the Good Shepherd Foundation since 1980.
In 1991, she and her husband Sydney Ross Singer co-founded the Institute for the Study of Culturogenic Disease. Their first project was a crusade to inform the public of the hazards of medicine and how to prevent them. Following their research into the cause of breast cancer, they wrote Dressed to Kill (1995).
