Ödön Barsi-(Rodriguez)-brother of Endre Rodriguez filmdirector- finished at the Academy of Dramatic Arts, receiving a diploma as actor and director also and became a scholarship member of the Hungarian National Theatre. He exchanged his original spanish family name-Rodriguez-officially for Barsi after the second world war. At 1934 he won the first and second prizes of the Hungarian Radio's jubilee radio play competition. He became one of the most popular directors of radio plays. He wrote a lot of exciting adventure and criminal stories (mainly under pen-names: J.Bayrd, B.Darton, E.Girdo, C.Green, C.Hamilton, P.Hawker, E.A.Rodriguez, E.A.Rodry, A.Rodriguez, C.Rodriguez, Roderich, E.Thompson, C.Thompson, P. Tompson, M. Tompson, C.Wreen, C.Wrenn, G.Wilcox). He wrote biographies of Farkas Kempelen, Móricz Sándor, Niccolo Paganini and Móricz Benyovszky. It was his novel "The Spaceship (Az űrhajó)" the one of the most important early works of Hungarian science fictions. All of his novels have been newly published by "Fapadoskönyv Kiadó" in hungarian language between 2009 and 2013.
