Jody and Ned Martin traveled the West for over 15 years gathering data for their books on horse gear.
Ned set up his portable photo studio in museums and private collections to capture the stunning images of the cowboy or Indian horse equipment they were currently researching.
The Martins have ridden horses in many Western states, Europe, and South America, where they gained first-hand knowledge of horse gear being used.
Ned has traveled widely to photograph not only collections for these books, but also for his previously published work of portraits of old people, Faces and Lines, in collaboration with writer, Dan Brown. He currently uses state-of-the-art digital camera equipment. - from web site of Hawk Hill Press.
