Honenberger's first novel was nominated for the Library of Virginia Fiction award in 2007. Her award-winning short stories have appeared in Antietam Review, New Millenium, SouthLit, and The HooK, including two stories chosen by John Grisham in the 2008 HooK contest, announced at the Opening Ceremony of Virginia's Festival of the Book. Copley News Service wrote: "Sarah Collins Honenberger is a gifted storyteller, a master of nuance who knows how to move you deeply; how to lift your heart; how to grab your attention and hold it.”
Her second novel, Waltzing Cowboys, is scheduled for release in January 2009, in trade paper.
