Justinian I, commonly known as Justinian the Great (Latin: Iustinianus I Magnus), was Eastern Roman Emperor from 527 to 565.
The sole source for Justinian's full name, Flavius Petrus Sabbatius Iustinianus (Justinianus), Greek: Φλάβιος Πέτρος Σαββάτιος Ἰουστινιανός, sometimes called Flavius Anicius Iustinianus (... Julianus Justinianus), are consular diptychs of the year 521 bearing his name.
