Harold Begbie

This photograph shows Harold Begbie with Eleanor, the last of his four daughters, in 1913. There can be no doubt that the touching and minutely observed description of the baby Leonore in his 1913 novel Rising Dawn is a portrait of his own daughter Eleanor.
