Escritor Residente de Hamline University (Minnesota, 1994).

Investigador en el Archivo General de Indias (España, 1997).

Escritor becario de la Fundación Yaddo (Saratoga Springs, New York, 1998).

Premio Moisés Landaverde a la Destacada Promoción Artística y Cultural.

Ex codirector del suplemento cultural Cronopios. (Diario Tiempo, Honduras).

Ex jefe de redacción de la Revista Tragaluz. (Edit. Guaymuras, Tegucigalpa).

Cofundador del Centro Cultural Infantil de San Pedro Sula.

Premio Nacional de Poesía Estudiantil (1970).

Segunda Mención Concurso Latinoamericano Rubén Darío, 1986.

Primera Mención Concurso Latinoamericano Plural, 1987.

Premio Ex Aequo Casa de las Américas, 1988.
