Avtar Brah es profesora de Sociología en Birkbeck College. Desde los años sesenta, ha participado en diversos colectivos de feministas negras y en un buen número de proyectos editoriales y políticos. Sus trabajos exploran, de la mano de su experiencia militante, la interseccionalidad de género, raza, etnicidad, clase, edad y nacionalismo en la composición de identidades y prácticas políticas que sólo se pueden comprender en un marco multiaxial del poder. También de Avtar Brah, si bien no traducido al castellano, se puede leer: Hybridity and its Discontents: Politics, Science, Culture (Routledge, 2000).
