Robert F. Chisholm was well known in North America and Europe as a dynamic marketing man. Until his retirement, he was Executive Vice President of Dominion Stores Limited, the famous supermarket chain doing a business of $600 million per year (back in 1970). During the Second World War, he was on loan to the Canadian Government, where he was in charge of wholesale and retail distribution. He was awarded the Order of the British Empire for this work.
Mr. Chisholm served as Chairman of two corporations and a director of several others. He also served as Vice President of the Supermarket Institute, the Retail Council of Canada, the Canadian Council of Distribution, and as a director of the National Association of Food Chains and the Boston Conference on Distribution. He served as President of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Governor of the University of Toronto from which he held a Bachelor of Commerce and Finance.
