Rasul Gamzatovich Gamzatov (Avar: ХӀамзатазул Расул ХӀамзатил; Russian: Расу́л Гамза́тович Гамза́тов) was a popular Russian poet who wrote in Avar language. Among his poems was Zhuravli, which became a well-known Soviet song.
