Arthur Thomas Sheehan was a member of the Catholic Worker movement and an author. He joined the movement in Boston in the 1930s and went on to lead it before moving to St. Benedict's Farm at Upton. During the Second World War he co-edited The Catholic Worker newspaper, helped run the Catholic house of hospitality in New York City and helped establish Warner Camp for conscientious objectors. He wrote a biography of Peter Maurin, a founder of the Catholic Worker movement, called The Gay Believer. He also wrote biographies of Rose Hawthorne, Father Damien, and Pope John XXIII. He was married to Elizabeth Odell and co-authored several books with her.
