David Sogge, trained at Harvard and Princeton, has worked in and for grant-making organizations since 1970. Among his books are Compassion and Calculation: The Business of Private Foreign Aid (London, 1996) and Give and Take. What’s the Matter with Foreign Aid? (London 2002). He is a Fellow and Board Secretary of the Transnational Institute, Amsterdam.
