Anushree Sinha

Anushree Sinha is a Senior Fellow at the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi, India. Dr. Sinha is engaged in analysis of reforms in India and is active in dissemination processes involving policy makers and is involved in policy debates. She is member of various committees and institutions such as the Department of International Development, QEH, the Wolfson College, University of Oxford, UK. Dr. Sinha has carried out postdoctoral research at the Universities of Pennsylvania and Oxford and has applied macro economic analysis to study informality and gender issues. She has written (and co-authored) a number of papers for conferences and reports/ bulletins of institutions and book chapters, papers for professional journals and books. Dr. Sinha has also been a Visiting Fellow at the United Nations University-World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER). She has been a Senior Consultant of the United Nations Economic Commission (UNECA) in their initiative in mainstreaming gender to study the impact of trade liberalization in African countries.

Recently her book with Barbara Harris-White on Trade Liberalization and India’s Informal Economy was published by the Oxford University Press and is widely read. Her contribution on informal labour issues was published in a volume titled ‘Informal Labour Markets and Development’, edited by Guha-Khasnobis and Ravi Kanbur; Palgrave Macmillan.. Dr. Sinha is involved in various international assessments and forums to study the impact of macro policies on the informal and women workers. She has contributed to a number of Global Reports on issues pertaining to informal labour.
