Mary Hamilton

Mary Hamilton is a professional storyteller. In 1974, she received a B.A. in Education from the University of Kentucky. After graduating, she began teaching high school English in Brandenburg, Kentucky. In 1979 she received her M.S. in Library Science from the University if Kentucky, and she became a children's librarian at the Grand Rapids Public Library in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 1983, she became a full-time storyteller. She tells traditional tales from Kentucky, world folk tales, myths and fairy tales, true stories, and original fiction. She has been featured at storytelling festivals including the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee, the Hoosier Storytelling Festival, Indianapolis, IN, and the Storytelling Festival of Nebraska.
