Amil Alves

Brazilian, son of lebanese imigrants ,was born in the state of Minas Gerais near the city of Sao Jose de Alem Paraiba. Amil Alves grew up in his father's coffee plantation ,Fazenda da Tocaia (Tocaia Farm ), near Chiador Village in the state of Minas Gerais . Later he moved to Petropolis and Rio de Janeiro where he studied Veterinary and Medicine, giving up those studies to graduate in Law School. After practicing as a Lawyer in the city of Rio de Janeiro and Petropolis for 20 years he went to the state of Mato Grosso where he developed a colonization project of 150 thousand hectares of farms ,bringing agricultors from the southern regions of Brazil.
Amil Alves colonization project is now responsible for a great part of the Sorriso county soybeans production. (world's largest producer of soybeans).
