Indra Vikram Singh, known to family and close friends as Teddy Rajpipla, is scion of the royal family of Rajpipla, heritage resort promoter, proficient cricketer, author, writer and publisher. Born 29th July 1955 at Mussoorie into the 1500-year-old Gohil Rajput dynasty. Grandson of Maharaja Shri Vijaysinhji (popularly known as Pip), who was the last ruler of Rajpipla State in modern Gujarat, India, the dynasty having ruled the 4,000 square kilometres Rewakantha State for 600 years. Elder son of Maharajkumar Indrajitsinhji (also known as Billy Rajpipla, third son of Maharaja Vijaysinhji) and Rani Vina Kumari (daughter of Maharajkumar Sriniwas Prasad Singh of Jagdishpur, Bihar, descendant of Kunwar Singh, legendary leader of 1857 mutiny). Educated at St. Joseph's Academy, Dehra Dun, house captain and cricket captain, proficient at other sports. History degree at Hans Raj College, Delhi University, college cricket captain. Diploma in business administration. Stint in own garments export business. Moving force behind construction of sports complexes in Delhi. Took to sports writing and publishing in the 1990s. Contributed to several leading newspapers and magazines. Former editor of Cricket Samrat (English), besides having edited several other publications. Author of 'Test Cricket: End of the Road?' (1992), 'World Cup Cricket' (2002), 'The Little Big Book of World Cup Cricket' (2007 and 2011 editions), The Big Book of World Cup Cricket (2011), A Maharaja's Turf (2011) on his grandfather Maharaja Shri Vijaysinhji's Epsom Derby 1934 triumph, special souvenir Crowning Glory (2011) on the cricket World Cup 2011, Don's Century (2011) which is a biography of Don Bradman and panorama of batting since the 1860s, making him the only Indian biographer of The Don, Indian Spring (2015) on India's win in the cricket World Cup 2011, and Wonder Down Under (2019) on the cricket World Cup 2015.
