Deniz Karakurt

Deniz Karakurt, the first child of a family that immigrated from Turkey to work as a worker and settled in Germany, was born in 1978 in Bremerhaven, the port city of Bremen. During his stay in this country, he lived under the traditional family roof with her parents as well as her grandparents. Upon the death of his father as a result of a work accident, he made a definite return to Turkey with his family. After that, he spent most of his summer holidays in Akçakışla sub-district of Şarkışla district. Here and in the surrounding villages he visited from time to time, he got to know the rural life and folk literature closely. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in his hometown, Sivas. He left his Mining Engineering education in Eskişehir in his second year and returned to Sivas. He graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Cumhuriyet University. After working as a civil servant in Kütahya for nearly two years, he completed his military service as a tank soldier in Istanbul. The author, who is still working about Accounting at Sivas Cumhuriyet University, is married. He speaks German and English. He is the author of many books, especially The Apple and Turkish Mythology Dictionary.
