Karl Henrik Sivesind is a research professor at the Institute for Social Research, Oslo, Norway (2004– ), and Dr. polit. in Sociology from the University of Oslo (1997). He has studied changes affecting civil society by analysing population surveys and organization data as a part of the activities of the Johns Hopkins Non-profit Sector Project (2000–2007) and the Centre for Research on Civil Society and Voluntary Sector in Oslo/Bergen (2008–2020). Sivesind has been involved in several comparative research projects on the mix of providers of welfare services, voluntary organizations and volunteering, donations to voluntary organizations, and comparative studies of work and management.
