James Hampton

James is a video game developer who worked with such companies as Lucasfilm Games, later called LucasArts, Atari, and Attention to Detail. He worked as 'Lead Tester" on games like Star Wars for the Nintendo Entertainment Sysetem {NES}.[1] At Lucas Games he also worked with "Howard Phillips", who was Nintendo's spokes person for many years. In early promotional buyers guides Howard was originally credited for writing the Star Wars: Hint Book,[2] for the NES, but which was eventually written by James.[4] He worked on several other games, and was the producer for the 1994 game "Alien Vs. Predator" for the Atari Jaguar, {the first 64-bit video game console, predating the Nintendo 64 by about 3 years}, and a Atari Lynx version.[5]

The nickname "Purple" is one he was given while working as a video game tester.[5]
