Jacques Ravenne

Jacques Ravenne, whose real name is Jacques Ravaud, is an author of French detective novels, also editor and screenwriter.

A specialist in genetic criticism, he has mainly worked on the manuscripts of Paul Valéry, Yves Bonnefoy, Nerval and Mallarmé both within the framework of the Institute of Modern Texts and Manuscripts of the CNRS and with the Hugot Foundation of the Collège de France.

Friends for more than twenty-five years with Eric Giacometti (1963), they inaugurated their literary collaboration in 2005 with "The Ritual of the Shadow", the first opus in the series devoted to the investigations of the Freemason Commissioner Antoine Marcas. Then followed several volumes. The series is also adapted as a comic strip: "Marcas, master freemason" at Delcourt, screenplay by the authors and drawings by Gabriele Parma and Eric Albert.

Their collaboration also focused on an analysis of one of the novels with an esoteric background by Dan Brown, and is completed by a short story, "Relocation", published in the collective collection "The Bloody Footprint" (2009).

Author of several articles in France and Japan, he has also directed the publication of two reference books: "Yves Bonnefoy" (1998) and "Poésie et Politique" (2002).

Freemason raised to the rank of master in the French rite, he collaborates with the Masonic review Freemasonry magazine, relating the humorous adventures of Jean Acacio among the Freemasons.

In 2008, he began working as an elected official in his family department of Lot, where he was elected President of the Community of Municipalities of the Valley and Causse until 2013.
