Condensed translation of author's "La très joyeuse, plaisante et récréative histoire composée par le Loyal Serviteur, des faiz, gestes, triumphes et prouesses, du bon chevalier sans paour et sans reprouche le gentil seigneur de Bayart ...", which is also attributed to Jacques Joffrey and was first published in Paris, 1527.
Plate with imprint: "E. H. Wehnert, Del. Etched by C. Mottram." and "Longman & Co. 1848".
MASS copy: Bound in red rib-grain cloth printed with a repeating pattern of a gold fleur-de-lis set within a black diamond border. With printed paper title label on spine: "The very Joyous History of the Good Knight without Fear and without Reproach. 1476-1524." With binder's ticket: "Bound by Remnant&Edmonds. London". With later bookplate: "Ex Libris Ruari & Antonia McLean".
