Ordering the Pennsylvania Militia to be ready at a day's notice to join General Washington in cooperating with the Count d'Estaing's fleet upon its arrival. The orders were issued by Joseph Reed, president of the Supreme Executive council, in response to Washington's letter of Oct. 4, 1779.
