An edition of Kite maker (1991)

Both comedic and dramatic, this is the story of Melvina Skittle, a country girl, who drives up to a women's bar in Philadelphia in a gaudy new Cadillac convertible. The year is 1979, and she's a tough-acting baby butch who's never had a girlfriend - an innocent who lies a lot to hide her past. None of Melvina's new-found friends know what to make of her, but they can't help but be intrigued as she entices the beautiful Ramona's haughty friend, Professor Sal Deevers, to drive off with her in search of a long lost love.
