Blood and liver samples were collected from sea otters in oiled and unoiled sections of Prince William Sound to monitor health and blood cytochrome P450 1A (CYP1A) biomarker values. Sea otters in oiled areas had higher CYP1A levels and their livers were generally swollen and pale in color. However, the incidence of histopathological lesions of the liver were similar in samples from both areas.
