Edition Notes

The greater part of the essays were printed originally in the English chronicle under the assumed character of a Grumbler. The others, never before printed and probably only partially by Grose have been collected and arranged by the publisher. cf. Advertisement.

WSU:WSU Archives copy has heraldic bookplate of Hutches Troner and is inscribed "Ludovico Shadwell ... 1840."
