Edition Notes

Paging irregular: p. 491-501 are a cancel for the original p. 491-505 [This cancel is placed at the end and has pages 494 and 499 incorrectly numbered as 499 and 494] ; p. 39, 90, 91, 215, 463, 466, 593, 779 incorrectly numbered as 93, 89, 90, 211, 466, 463, 559, 789 respectively.

There is an unpaged appendix containing "The famous voyage of Sir Francis Drake into the South sea, and there hence about the whole globe of the earth, begun in the yeere...1577." [Cf. Cat. of the Huth Lib. Cat. of the Church library by Cole, no. 139, and Brit mus. Catalogue]. Following this appendix is the corrected cancel that replaced (in some copies) the original impression of Sir Jerome Bowes' account "The ambassage of Sir Hierome Bowes to the emperour of Moscovie 1583," p. 491-505. This correction is titled "A briefe discourse of the voyage of Sir Ierome Bowes...in the yeere 1582: and printed this second time, according to a true copie I receiued of a gentleman that went in the same voyage, for the correction of the errours in the former impression," p. 491-501.
