"Notice sur Clara Gazul" signed "Joseph l'Estrange."
The first edition of "Théâtre de Clara Gazul", published 1825, professed to be the translation of clara Gazul's comedies by a certain Joseph l'Estrange. Both names are fictions invented by P. Mérimée.
