Edition Notes

Published anonymously. Probably by Edmund Waller. Cf. W.B. Todd, "The number, order, and authorship of the Hanover pamphlets attributed to Chesterfield" in Papers of the Bibliographical Society of America, v. 44 (1950) p. 224-238. Todd would limit Chesterfield's participation in the work to revisions introduced in a 1743 edition which he identifies as the "G" edition.
Todd identifies the present edition as the "C" edition, advertised in the London daily advertiser Dec. 24, 1742.
Signatures: A-D⁴ E².
