Vening Meinesz of the Netherlands geodetic commission was in charge of the gravimetric survey and was assisted by Dr. Harry H. Hess of Princeton university, and Mr. T. T. Brown of the Naval research laboratory. The computations for the final values of gravity were started by Miss E. A.
