The first leaf is blank.

A variant of the edition with John Marriott's initials in the imprint of the engraved title page.

"Essayes, the second part" and "Discourses vpon Seneca the tragedian" have separate letterpress title pages; register is continuous. These title pages have imprint "London, printed by Tho. Harper, and are to be sold by John Marriott .. 1631". Variant: title page to part 2 has Ritherdon's name rather than Marriott's.
