Fisher copy: Inscription on t.p.: "Collegii S. Caroli R.P. professorum Ord. S. Bened. Salzb."

Fisher copy: Contemporary blind stamped binding, sewn on 5 raised bands. Full bound tawed pigskin over wooden boards bevelled on the inside edges, and partially on outside edges; blue and white endbands; remains of clasps, hinged on lower board. Spine finished with blind lines carried on to covers to form "tie-downs." Covers finished with 3-line roll forming a series of panels, containing blind tooling of palmettes and interlacing semi-circles roll, and floral rolls; central panel has floral cornerpiece at each corner. Each cover stamped with oval panel painted black; upper cover (dated 1631) depicts St. Benedict and St. Scholastica with oval inset of a scribe; lower cover (dated 1651?) depicts St. Maurus, St. Benedict, and St. Scholastica in the upper section and St. Placidus and Pope Celestine V in the lower section. Initials "C. S.C.B.S." [Collegium Sancti Caroli Borromei Salzburgi (?)] and date: 1645 in black on upper cover.
