Becky Alexander was raised down Hammett's Lane during the 1950's and '60's. She and her three siblings lived an idyllic childhood, in which they explored the swamps, fields, and woodlands of the Hammett lands.
This book is dedicated to the Hammetts, Chesters, and Lepards, who took care of the land down Hammett's Lane from the 1860's to the 1970's, and who honoured and repected this fine place.
This is a collection of 32 poems by author Becky Alexander.
"This book is dotted with acute observation . . . 'A brown push mower rusted into the past' and a country lane 'filled with lilacs . . . their buds now light and full as baby grapes.' Becky has attained in this 'chapbook' a pastoral harmony of thought and reflection."
Jonathan Harrison, For Arts Sake, The Cambridge Reporter
"Becky Alexander's poetry touches the heart of whatever she writes about. Whether that is nature, people around her, or her own feelings, she has a clear eye for detail, spare and evocative language, and the sense of wonder and delight in the world that is found in good haiku."
Ellen Jaffee, poet and author of Writing Your Way: Creating a Personal Journal
