Facsimile reprint of the work printed by Bodoni (Parma : Co'Tipi Bodoniani, 1811) for Marie Louise and Napoleon to celebrate the birth of their son; consists of poems based on neoclassical themes by Gherardo de Rossi and engravings by Rosaspina after Teixeira.

" ... contains 40 compositions in verse, printed in 40 different typefaces, and, alongside each of them, 40 miniatures specially commissioned and coloured by the famous Parmesan artist, Antonio Pasini ... "--P. ll of the Commentary.

Volume 2 (Commentary) has title: The "Cimelio" of Bodoni: the work and its printer in essays by Angelo Ciavarella, Corrado Mingardi, James Mosley, Bernard Chevallier.

"This edition designed and realized by Stamperia Valdonega ... consists of two volumes: the facsimile, for which Bodoni's texts were printed in flat bed letterpress with the frames and miniatures printed in nine color offset, on specially-made papers by Cartiere Magnani, Pescia, and the commentary, printed in letterpress and offset on Fedrigoni Bodonia paper. The binding was carried out at Legatoria Recalcati in Milan ... one of four hundred copies printed for the members of Hoc Volo"--Colophon of the Commentary.
