Contemporary Italian dark maroon morocco over wooden boards, the sides richly decorated in blind with fillets, roll-tooled borders, leaf and flower tools (as in Bolognese bindings: see De Marinis Legatura artistica 1317 and 1368, plates CCXXV and CCXXXIII), a central rhombus containing a large arabesque ornament; spine with alternating single and double bands.
