Most colour wood-engraved plates are unsigned. Two are signed: "JA" and one signature includes the date "1870". All are with title captions.
Most wood-engraved illustrations within the text are unsigned. Some are signed "E. Whimper Sc." or "E. Whymper Sc." [i.e. Edward Whymper?]. One is signed "J. Swain".
Colour plates were printed by Benjamin Fawcett. Cf. McLean, Ruari and Antonia. Benjamin Fawcett: engraver and colour printer, 1988.
Includes "Index.": p. [270]-272.
