Edition Notes
'Published surreptitiously. The text is described by Rawley as 'corrupt' [Gibson], that is, it is so described in William Rawley's address 'To the Reader' published in his 'Certaine Miscellany Works ... ' of the author, in the same year, 1629.
NUC has note: 'Apparently this is the "corrupt and surreptitious Edition" attacked by William Rawley, sig A3r-A4r of his collection of Bacon's 'Certaine miscellany works', 1629 (STC 1124), which included Rawley's own edition of the 'Considerations''.
STC 1126 [Described as a 'corrupt and surreptitious Edition' on A3r-4r of 1124]; Gibson No. 187.
