Two wood-engraved plates are with signature: "H. Vizetelly Sc.". Some are with signature: "SVS" and a few are with signature: "JG" [i.e. John Gilbert]. All plates are with captions.

Wood-engraved illustrations within the text are unsigned.

Publisher's advertisements dated "March 1855" and entitled: "David Bogue's (Late Tilt and Bogue) Annual Catalogue." on p. [1]-24 at end.

With the same setting of type, illustrations and wood-engraved plates as in the "Third Edition" of this title published in 1857 by David Bogue. See McLean D 0729.

MASS copy: Bound in blue morocco-grain cloth blocked in blind with the spine blocked in gold, in the same design as McLean D 0729. Spine with signature: "[JM?]". With yellow painted endpapers. With binder's ticket: "Leighton Son & Hodge, Shoe Lane London.". With presentation inscription dated 1856. With later ownership inscription: "FAnJ" [i.e. Fianach Jardine]. Lacking plate [7].
