With blank piece of paper (5 x 13 cm) pasted over the text entitled "List of Illustrations" on p. vi.
Wood-engraved plates are with signature: "E. Evans Sc." or "Edmund Evans. Sc.".
Plates are printed with beige tinted background.
Wood engraved plates are the same as three plates used in the "Second Edition" of "Fern Leaves from Fanny's portfolio" published by Nathaniel Cooke in 1853. Added t.p. plate is also the same as that used in this edition. See McLean D 0392.
With the same sheets, but different wood-engraved plates, as a variant copy of this edition published in 1854 by Nathaniel Cooke. See McLean D 0395.
Wood-engraved illustration within the text is signed: "S. V. Slader".
Includes wood-engraved decorative and illustrated head-pieces, tail-pieces and initials.
MASS copy: Bound in blue diagonal wave-grain cloth blocked in blind with the spine blocked in gold. With pale yellow glazed endpapers.
