Edition Notes

"Cum incerti avctoris fragmento De praenominibvs recensvit et emendavit Carolvs Kempfivs."

The fragment, De praenominibus, with subscription "C. Titi Probi finit Epitoma historarivm diversarvm exemplorvmqve romanorvm ..." is probably anonymous, and forms the only extant chapter of a treatise on names, containing: De praenominibus, de nominibus, de cognominibus, de agnominibus, de appellationibus, de verbis. It is appended to Julius Paris' epitome of Valerius Maximus and is ascribed to Paris in some of the mss. of Valerius where it has been substituted for the missing tenth book.

Facsimile reprint of the Berlin, 1854 ed. published by G. Reimer.

Includes bibliographical references and index.
